Where To Stay When You Visit Devon

Huxtable Farm in Barnstaple, Devon

Huxtable Farm is located in Exmoor and is very close to the Strawberry Lane famous for its wild strawberries. It is owned by Jackie and Antony. It is mainly a woodland and sheep farm spread across 80 acres. It is a farmhouse built in 1520 that has been renovated to suit modern tastes. However, it still reflects some of the old architecture. All rooms here are en-suite with television, tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary toiletries. There are two luxury barn rooms that have cots, high chairs and baby monitors. The wildlife here consists of buzzards, bats, rabbits and badgers. The surrounding area is excellent for long walks.

Fernleigh Guest House, Lynton

Located in the quiet town of Lynton, this is a modern guest house known for its “Beautiful Breakfasts cooked with care”. There are 5 comfortable bedrooms all equipped with En suite facilities, Colour television, Tea/coffee, central heating. It is a non-smoking establishment with private off road parking facilities. For those requiring some privacy, there is a small, beautifully decorated, fully furnished apartment with its private parking space and a kitchen which allows for self catering. It is close to various eateries, shops, post offices, churches and the Tourist Information Centre. Exmoor National Park nearby is known for its scenic walks and its wildlife. You can explore on foot or horseback, go fishing, sailing and bird watching or play golf, tennis. You can also explore the panoramic Devon coastline and the charming towns of Lynton and Lynmouth and enjoy a ride on the old-world water operated cliff railway.

Kingford House in Lynton, Devon

Kingford House is a beautiful non-smoking guest house in Lynton located under Hollerday Hill. All rooms are equipped with tea tray, television, hairdryer and a clock radio alarm. There is space for parking and a lounge with various games and books for your entertainment. It is located close to the Bowling Greens and Tennis Courts, the Valley of Rocks, and the Cliff Railway connecting Lynton and Lynmouth. There are many beautiful coastal paths and you can walk down to Watersmeet or up to Countisbury and Foreland Lighthouse. The Exmoor National Park with its scenic paths and wildlife also makes for a very pleasant outing. Famous for their delicious meals, they serve food freshly cooked from local produce. Breakfast and evening meals are served everyday and given prior notice, you can be provided with food for picnics. An ideal base for exploring Exmoor.
