It is really ridiculous how much hotels cost nowadays. I remember when I was a little child and my family and I used to go on vacations. We would look for the “nice hotels” in the $70-$80 range. It really hasn’t been that long ago and already you have to spend in the hundreds just to get a decent hotel in some areas. Typically when you are vacationing, the hotel isn’t really your destination, but a place to sleep for the night. Since this is the case, you really shouldn’t have to spend a fortune to sleep when you are already going to be spending the bulk of your money on places to see and activities to do there. Depending on what type of travel you tend to do and which discounts will most benefit you, you will be able to choose the club that best suits your needs.

Another way to save money on hotel costs is to take advantage of the off seasons. If it doesn’t really matter to you when you travel as long as you can get away, then taking your vacation right on the edge of the off season tends to drop the hotel prices significantly. The hotels will try any means possible to fill their empty rooms during the slow season. If you already know the area you are going to travel to next and/or know which hotels you are considering, you may want to search their websites for a way to get on their email list. When discounts arise, they will send you a notification of the great deals they are having and by taking advantage of them, you could save yourself a lot of money.

One way that you may already have tried in order to save money on a hotel is using discount travel sites to book your stay. Although you may already have thought of this method to save money, it’s nothing to take lightly. These discount travel sites have saved me a fortune, especially when it doesn’t matter to me whether or not the hotel pulls out the bells and whistles when I arrive.
